    Friday February 20, 2009

Manufacturing jobs Sydney are diverse and popular ranging from the production of medical devices to defence and aerospace. Much of this technology is developed within Sydney itself. On the logistics front, jobs Sydney has proved itself more than capable after the 2000 Olympic Games where there were extensive infrastructure, construction and logistical projects to complete. Sydney firms that were in charge of these massive projects are now deploying this expertise globally.

The manufacturing sectors jobs cover industries from metal products manufacturing, food, beverages and tobacco manufacturing, machinery and equipment manufacturing, printing, publishing and recorded media production.

Manufacturing jobs Sydney can cover from wine manufacturing to mining production to the manufacturing of basic goods. All these industries, and the jobs within them, typically generate strong figures for example NSW exported over A$11 billion worth of mining and mineral products in the 2005-6 financial year.

Sydney manufacturing jobs and jobs around NSW in the minerals industry are one of Australia's strongest industries, although the economic crisis has had negative effects. Over recent years NSW has built up a solid reputation as a producer and manufacturer of low cost mineral resources while holding a strong position as supplier of coal.

Furthermore, jobs Sydney and greater NSW wine manufacturing and production jobs have been steadily increasing with the industry expand three fold over the last ten years with wine exports reaching over A$557 million in 2004-5.

Sydney manufacturing jobs generate excellent business with the manufacturing industry contributing A$31.5 billion to the NSW economy in 2005-6.

Jobs within the manufacturing sector in Sydney are numerous with approximately 300 manufacturing firms in NSW that have more than 200 employees. Additionally, there are 20,000 smaller employing manufacturing firms in 2006. In 2007, there were 327,000 people working in the manufacturing sector which equates to about 10% of the NSW workforce.

Predicted growth for the future of the manufacturing industry is somewhat shaky with several external factors impacting such as the economic crisis, greater import competition, the fluctuating Australian dollar and the effects of widespread drought. These elements have had a negative impact on growth although there are sub sectors that are still performing with good jobs growth. These include printing, publishing and recorded media, wood and paper products, food and beverage production, and metal products.
